    Title: I know have a room…somewhere?!
The dream is always the same. I’m a Resident Advisor at my undergraduate college. I know I have a room in the residence hall, yet I cannot find it. The Hall is like nothing on our campus. It’s a huge Victorian style wooden dormitory. It’s very gothic, dark and old. It has over 300 rooms and six floors. I search each floor and even enter some rooms. They’re always too small and missing random yet important items (doors, windows etc.). Everything is in different shades of red (red curtains, red Indian rugs, red Victorian Wall paper, and wood paneling so dark it seems black. Everyone has started the semester and is in class…yet still I search for my room.
INTERPRETATION? This is one of those repetitive dreams that I have at the beginning of many semesters. When I was in College, I was a resident Assistant and absolutely hated it. Whenever I get anxious, this dream occurs. The dream starts, and I recognize it and have to follow it though until I wake. Not sure about the color red or the Victorian dorm…what do you think?

    1. I have had a reoccurring dreams before, they always happened right around Christmas time. I have heard before that the color red sometimes symbolizes survival. Maybe things were red because you were feeling so anxious and worried about surviving as a college student. Also the Victorian style is old, maybe you were scared that you were never going to get to where you wanted to be like your other classmates and that you were going to be stuck in college as an "old" student compared to everyone else.

    2. Perhaps you're onto something! I like the way you're thinking about this. Color imagery and for that matter any kind of imagery is very idiosyncratic and needs to be seen over multiple dreams.

      Delete
    3. I have also had reoccurring dreams whenever I was scared or afraid when I was younger and it wouldn't make much sense to me either but, Maybe it was added stress to your college life to juggle being an RA and while being a full time student.

  2. Title: Losing Control
This dream was strange, not like any I've had before. I slowly open my eyes from my bed and sit up only to look down and still see myself. I realize I may be lucid dreaming and get a little excited. I try to move around the room decide that I could do anything I wanted. The problem is, I can't get out of my room. I try to float and get a few feet off the ground. Then I try to go through the door but can't. It's almost like I'm trapped in my room. I walk back to my bed and get sucked back into my own body and thrown into a new dream. I'm at home and just woke up, it's pouring rain outside. I go down the stairway and notice that there is a puddle of water on the stairs and look up to see a small hole in the roof so I can see outside. Through the hole I see a small porch-like area on the roof which isn't there in real life. As I keep staring I get nervous and scream because I think if I keep staring, eventually something or someone will stare back at me. I run back into my room and stand near my desk which has alarms and radios and electronics all over it. When I look at the desk everything starts going off, lights flashing and everything making noise. I try to make it stop even resorting to unplugging things but they still continue disturbing the peace. Finally I gave up, covered my ears and woke up.
Interpretation: I think this dream reflects some of the difficult things happening and changing in my life right now. It represents the feeling I have of not being in control of what happens and being worried about it. I think the part where I'm concerned somebody will look back at me through the hole in the roof represents me being paranoid about things not working out so well. Other than that, I'm not too sure what to think of it.

    1. Possible interpretations for "losing control"
First, I thought that your interpretations were very accurate. Listing the emotions in the dream really helps discover the meaning.
I think that this dream supports the cognitive theory of dreaming. What do you think the imagery of water represents? Have you seen this imagery before? Keep trying the lucid dreaming approaches...I think you might be on the verge of one of these types of dreams!
      What does everyone else think?

    2. Water is something every person needs, maybe the puddle represents that you feel like you need something that you cant get/control at the moment. The rain could also represent all the different changes falling on to you at once.

      Delete
    3. Water sometimes represent a new beginning, a cleansing, or a washing away of something. The hole in your house and the rain coming through could represent a change that you are avoiding but in the back of your mind know that its a change you must make. The rain around you is the change that is occurring and you are frightened to look out the hole in the ceiling because you do not want to deal with the surrounding change. Just a thought!

  3. Title: Sooo I'm a goat farmer? And not a good one...
Content: I am in a lush field. It's sunny and warm and my three friends and I are lying in the grass. I sit up to see hundreds of goats roaming all around me eating grass and running around. I feel very happy and am talking with my friends, though I do not remember what we were saying. Suddenly, some of the goats start stampeding towards us and we jump up to see what's wrong. Before I even realize what has startled them I begin to feel panicked and anxious. It suddenly gets very dark and cloudy. I feel cold. I see wolves running towards us and attacking the goats. My friends and I try to herd the goats away, but they are being slaughtered in front of us and we have to run. We run up a hill that is now covered in snow and jump up onto this scaffold-like structure that has appeared out of nowhere. The wolves run to us and start to jump up, trying to bite us. I hit one of them away.
Interpretaion: I watch a lot of nature shows on television and recently watched one on wolves. I also watcheda documentary the other night on Mongolia and there were a lot of goats in that. I used to have nightmares about being attacked by wolves a lot when I was a child. i have not had a dream where I was being attacked by animals in a while. Why it came up now, I have no idea.

    1. Possible interpretation?
When I think of the image of wolves, I am reminded of a wolf in sheep's clothing; very sneaky but powerful and frightening when it emerges. Maybe the wolf represents something in your life such as a problem or a dilemma that you are faced with. The goats represent obstacles you have thrown in the way to stop the issue but not really deal with it. Perhaps your unconscious is telling you that you need to face this problem or whatever it maybe face on even though you may be afraid to do so.

      Just a thought :)

    2. Great use of imagery and your dream supports the cognitive theory of dreams as well as some interesting Freudian components.

Title: Losing my friends, or so I thought they were..
Content: This dream is about how my parents and my best friend abandoned me after I made friends with the wrong set of people. I woke up early, got dress; meanwhile I’m eating breakfast I’m doing my hair and other stuff. I was now dress in my best outfit, or so I thought. So I got the so called friends I thought I had and driving to the mall we got into an argument. I hate when people raise their voice at me, so one of the girl raised her voice and I decided to get louder. Maybe it’s just the feeling of over powering and I just don’t like that. Anyways we got to the mall and we all came to the agreement of going to our favorite store and we would meet up after we were done shopping. Nevertheless, I was good with the idea, so I went about my business. It was now 3pm and I keep texting and calling, but no one would answer the phone. So I just called a cab and after I dropped my bags at home; I went to the fair where we all are meeting up. When I get to the fair I saw the girls, so I ran over to them and they all walked away. I then went to the top of the hill where they are standing and I said whats up and then they all started to say we don’t like you and never did. “We just talked to you but we don’t need to anymore”. I dropped my bag to the ground and fell on my knees and tears started pouring. And I jumped out my sleep
Analysis: I think this dream symbolize the fake friends I have around me. Even though I don’t have that much friends, it shows that there are many people who laugh and talk to me but deep down they don’t like me. And I gave the dream the title of losing my friends, or so I thought because in reality they weren’t real friends to begin with. So I have realized there are only a few people who care about me that I can call my friend.

    1. Possible interpretation?

In the beginning you mention that your parents abandon you, maybe in the back of your mind you fear making a mistake that will disappoint them and cause them to disown you or not be able to accept a mistake you may. Maybe you subconsciously feel they are putting pressure on you to be successful which may include having tons of friends (even though that means nothing in terms of success) I agree with you that having a few true friends is better than a whole host of fake ones.

  5. Title: The mysterious house
I am with one of my friends, Ashley and my cousin, Mikayla. We are walking through the back yard of some person's house. It is a really nice house but I have never seen or been here before. I don’t recognize the town or anything. The backyard is a beach but there is a big sand wall that stops all of the water from the ocean, from coming in, so that the water stays shallow enough for the boys to play in. We get to a spot where it’s a little pathway in the water that we walk through. There are waves that keep knocking into the sand wall but it is high enough that only a little bit of water gets over it at a time. As we are walking through the water, I step on something sharp and it hurts my foot, when I look down I see a skeleton hand. I can’t figure out if it is weird and I am creeped out. Then all of the sudden we are inside of the house and the mom of the kids is in the kitchen on the phone, on her computer doing work. She is sitting in front of the window watching the boys play in the water. Then we are upstairs in one of the boy’s bedrooms. His bedroom is attached through a closet and went to another bedroom. This feels wrong because one bedroom is for a boy and one is for a girl. I am confused then all of a sudden our foot steps are so loud and we stop moving because we hear the mom coming up the stairs. I hid in the girls room behind the bureau and the mom comes in to pick up the room. I thought if I kept my eyes closed she wouldn’t see me, so I had them squinted open just enough to be able to see her. She sees me as she is going to leave the room and starts freaking out, she grabs for the phone. I try to tell her that we aren’t there to take anything and that we just wanted to see the house. Me and my cousin freak out and go to the mom’s bedroom to grab our cameras that we left on the bed, for some reason we can’t grab them quick enough and the batteries start falling out everywhere. Then I am outside by myself walking down a very unfamiliar road for about a minute when a man in a tan suit with light, reddish, long but not too long hair says my name and tells me to go back to the house because they are going to call the cops and the cops are going to find me. I turn around to walk back and all the sudden I am in the house again in the living room with the mom and two of my friends. But this time it is Ashley and Tracy, my cousin was gone. They are all in a good mood just having casual conversations. I sit on the couch next to Tracy and she is talking to the husband. My friend Ashley brought up how she was in the Army and somehow talks the lady out of calling the police. They realize that we aren’t there to do anything bad. I start talking to the husband about how I hope I didn’t mess up becoming a firefighter because I was going to be taking the firefighter exam soon. He told me I would be fine then he starts talking to Tracy about tattoos. Then all of a sudden a black puppy appears and I start playing with it. My friend Ashley starts packing up a box of new shoes that she was showing the lady. We are getting ready to leave and the woman is explaining to us that she is going to call the police and file a report once we leave. My friends are happy but I am feeling nervous, scared and content at the same time.
Analysis: I think this dream represents the fear, and nervousness I have of passing the firefighter exam. Other than that I can’t really figure out what any of the other things could mean.

  6. Title: Climbing Everest
Dream: I'm climbing up what seems to be like a normal stairway with windows, but as i look out of one of the windows I see a huge mountain. I look behind me and I see a group of people. I seen these people around campus but do not know any of their names. Some one from the group said "we are climbing Mt Everest" we kept climbing and our goal was the "large camp" which was the half way point of the trip. We arrive a a door that looks like an emergence door in the back of a school bus. I open the door, it appears that we are flying over the camp in a helicopter. No one else was in the helicopter just me. As I look over the camp I see alot of tall building, maybe 5-8 stories high. It look like a small city half way up Mount Everest. As I am looking at each building, I can into each floor like I have the blueprints to each floor in my mind. While I was scanning each floor of the building i would scan it and if the building was good for us to camp in it would turn green and if the building was not good it would turn red.
Interpretation: Well people I went to bed I was watching this show about how this guy climbed Mt. Everest by himself and on the way back down from the summit to the first camp he dropped his goggles and cracked the lens. That is where i think the Mt Everest comes form in my dream. Next climbing up the stairs I think represents me training for climbing Mt Washington in the summer. Lastly is me scanning the building, this comes from playing Killzone over the break and in that video game you can scan for enemies and teammates, as you scan your enemies will turn red and you will be able to see where they are through the walls and your teammates will turn green through the wall.

  7. Title: Journey to the Mailroom
Content: In my dream, I am in Hogwarts looking for the mail room. My roommate Erica is preparing for a Quidditch match and she needs her electrical tape to keep her socks up for her game. I find her electrical tape, put it in a plastic bag and search for the mail room. Since the building is magical, every time I take a turn, the hallways and stairways change and turn. Although I am in Hogwarts, the hallways sometimes resemble the hallways of my elementary school but then switch back to the magical halls. Every time I turn left or right there are certain portraits on the walls that I recognize and realize that I have already gone through that hallway. Finally, I find the mailroom but its an old, magical, firey room with narrow cages that only fit a human body. Everyone in the school has their own "mail cage" and in order to mail something you have to enter the cage feet first and push yourself to the end, once you reach the end of the 10 ft cage, the package in your hand gets poofed to the owl tower and is then delivered. The first time I reach the mail room and spend hours figuring out how to mail the bag, I approach my mail cage only to have Professor Snape barge in and tell me that I don't have a pass to be in the mailroom. He poofed me back to the beginning of the maze of hallways and I have to find my way back to the mailroom again. Once I reach the room for a second time and are half way down my mail cage, Professor Dumbledore comes in and tells me that electrical tape is illegal in the wizarding world because it messes up the magical flow of the world and he takes my bag away. Erica never got her tape for her game and I woke up.
Analysis: I don't really think there is a meaning to my dream. I think I dreamt about the electrical tape because earlier that day I watched my roommate empty a backpack that she was letting me borrow and it was full of electrical tape that she uses to keep her socks up in soccer. I think I dreamt about Hogwarts and its characters because I fell asleep to the Harry Potter weekend marathon on television.

  8. Title: Hospital Visit
Content: I started out back at Nichols College, or at least some college. It was a normal day for me and my friends but, that night we were just hanging around and my worst nightmare happened. I had another seizure. Of course, it was right in front of all my friends who have never seen me have one. The weird part about this dream is that I had the chance of “seeing” what it was like to witness me having a seizure which I can never actually do. I saw my friend’s reactions. It was too scary. I’m surprised I didn’t wake up from dreaming. Eventually I woke up from my seizure, back in the hospital surrounded by tons of doctors and my family. I had wires attached to my head because they were performing an EEG on me. They said I was in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for about a week, and I finally awoke two days later. I have already been in the hospital for nine days. I felt sick to my stomach. It had been over two years of not having another seizure. I was upset. I was missing school, my brain was all screwed up again, and I wasn’t able to do normal things properly like before. The whole experience went by quickly. I went to Physical Therapy to help me walk again and to get my strength back. I had many visitors including the soccer team, and many friends from school. It was a struggle for me to get back in the game. I eventually got out of the hospital after about a month. I went back to Nichols College, and struggled. I couldn’t remember how to spell; I couldn’t remember half of my friends. I felt lost and alone because no one knew my experience. I went back to my dorm and just sat there crying about what has happened to me again.
Interpretation: My interpretation about this dream is that, I am still scared about the chance of having another seizure. I have been seizure-free for almost two and half years. In total I have had a bunch, and I feel like I am just still scared about having one. I have these dreams occasionally but, they are all a little bit different. I believe that having these dreams are normal for me because I am so scared of having another one.

  9. Title: Am I awake?
Content: In my dream I wake up and immediately turn my UP band on daytime mode. I hear this explosion and realize that I am back home in the downtown neighborhood. I see my girlfriend running towards me screaming "RUN RUN" I grab her and we are off like a dart. We make our way towards this abandoned car which I automatically break into and start up. We are with two others who are supposedly our friends. We begin to drive and make our way to the mass pike. Hayley turns the radio on and apparently there is a revolution taking place and that we are all in grave danger. It never said why there was one happening, but explosions were just going off. We finally make it towards the auburn area and right when we pass through the tolls the two jump out of the car flipping us off and like that the car flips forwards and sets on fire. Then I wake up.

I only had this dream once before. When I got in my accident last october the week after this dream occurred. Last night, 3 months later, I have the same dream. OH and when I wake up to sync my UP band it says i didn't sleep at all; because I turned it to daytime mode through my dream....

  10. Title: Moving Day MMXIV

Content: In my dream, my family is getting ready to move to a new house. Even though the dream takes place in my current house, there are several things wrong with it in the dream. Some rooms are the wrong sizes, there's an extra room on the main floor, and the attic is replaced by an additional story. No lights are on the house is dark, except for an omnipresent faint gray light. It's dark and cloudy outside. All of the furniture has been replaced by different furniture, as if we had already moved out. There's a man I've never seen before on the mysterious new second floor, who I assume is the new owner. After wandering the house for some time, I meet up with my family and we head outside where the dream ends, because the UP Band went off and woke me up.

Interpretation: I've never lived in one place for more than a couple years, and have moved about seven times in my life. My mom just got remarried the other day, and her and my new step-dad are beginning to look at new houses while he sells his, so I think this dream has something to do with that. We have only lived in our current house for about seven months. I'm not sure who or what the stranger represents. I think the color gray might have to do with all the work I put into renovating the flooring and walls being pretty much pointless. The extra and larger rooms, as well as the new floor might be indicative of the fact that we are looking for a bigger house for seven people.

  11. Title: Trapped

Content: I’m in the house that I babysit at, although it looks completely different. The house is just one small room and I’m sitting on the floor with the little girl I babysit. The four walls around me are blue and there is only one white door that leads outside. I’m trying to get the little girl ready for school because I know I have to drop her off that day. I get her ready and we are good to go. When we go to get out of the house and leave, we cannot get out. I can see the door and I’m trying to move, but I can’t. I begin to feel extremely stressed out because I know I have some place to be and cannot get there on time. I continue to try and try to get out of the house, but I am not moving. The little girl’s mom gets home and tells me I wasn’t supposed to be taking her to school that day anyway, and I wake up.

Interpretation: I think I had this dream because it had been a few days since I babysat last and it was on my mind before I went to sleep that night. To me this dream was very stressful and I think it possibly represents the fear of trying to do something or get somewhere in my life, and just not making it. I think it shows I know where I want to be, but struggle with the uncertainty of how I’m going to get there. I think the mom telling me I wasn’t suppose to take her to school means that I shouldn’t worry too much and everything will work out the way it's suppose to.

    1. We dream of deadlines our whole life. I agree with your interpretation. Your dream also represent your mind trying to connect symbols to emotions. Your dream illustrates Freud's idea of "condensation" where we have many different components combined into a single dream.

  12. Title: Hall of Fame

Last night I dreamed of playing for my favorite Major League Baseball team, the New York Yankees. pitching in my last game as a 40 year old at Yankee stadium. I was going into the ninth inning with a no hitter and If I had a no hitter to end my career on, it would seal the deal on getting me into the hall of fame. I could picture the commentators on TV and the radio talking about my "hall of fame" career. I ended up striking out the last three hitters and the stadium went crazy. I then remember walking into the hall of fame and looking at my plaque on the wall as an old man.

Interpretation: I think I had this dream because, I always imagine myself playing in the majors and my grandfather played in the minor league system for the Yankees so it's kind of clichè. I have always been a big dreamer about sports.

  13. Title: Cover in disguise

(The details to my dream are all over the place - here is the best of what I can remember)

I am in a room and I have no idea what I am doing there. There are two men staring at me telling me that I have to do this for the campus. Suddenly I was the chosen one to protect the school. No one knew this but me and the two other men. (This is where the dream suddenly blurs) Next I remember going into a store and on my way out I am getting shot at. Suddenly there are these two men following me shooting at me. Next thing you know I have a gun and I am shooting right back at them. Suddenly we end up in a factory. (Parts of my dream suddenly start to break up again) Now I have a partner who is helping me kill these men - but he suddenly turned the gun on me. So i shot him, used his body as a shield then shot the other two men that were attacking me. My dream ended with me back on a school campus - people covering up for me that I killed what happens to be two innocent me. (That is all I can recall)

Interpretation: This dream for me is all over the place. I feel the reason I had this dream was one the setting was on a college campus and that is where I spend most of my time. Secondly I was watching a crime investigation show right before I went to bed. So that was the last thing that was embedded in my brain, I suppose. The dream I had personally was strange and it made no sense. But what I can remember was this was the first dream that I recalled that i had finished. Is a finishing a dream possible?

  14. Title: Friend to Fish

Content: My friends and i were all hanging out. We were playing soccer, then went for a walk by the ocean.we were carrying a bowl with three fish in them. while on our walk I notice one of my best friends disappeared. we searched for her four hours and she was no where to be found. i looked down at the bowl of fish and realized instead of three fish there were now four. All the fish looked the same and i knew one of them was my friend. we decided to dig a hole in the sand and have a mote to the ocean. I then dumped the bowl of fish into the hole and said "Sarah be free". when i said that one fish swam to the ocean all the others stayed in the hole. At that point i realized it was Sarah and she died and turned into a fish.

Interpretation: I think i had this dream because i have been worried about Sarah and her family for a few weeks. There's a lot of stress because on of her family members in in the hospital because he cant breath on his own. Since i have been scared about him I probably had the dream that Sarah died instead of him.

  15. Title: War Zone

My Dream was kind of weird it was about a war zone in a inner city, and I gaining info on how to destroy these robot-human type of creatures so I had to pretend that I was dead. As I was laying on the ground I watched and observed these creatures and as they began to leave I started to get up and see the major destruction that they has done. I also had to meet up with two other people in order to help defeat these creatures. Before we could save the city for total destruction my dream had ended and I really wish that I didn't I really wanted to save the inner city from destruction.

My Interpretation: I believe that I had this type of dream because I had watched a cop/action show before bed, so I thought I would put two and two together and that maybe this is why my dream was related to the show.

  16. Title:Co-worker bonding

My dream: My dream was all over the place, but I'll start with saying that I was with my co-workers, which I always am in real life anyways. We were at a mountain and we were all taking snowboarding lessons from one of my co-workers, Cody. Cody is also a snowboard instructor in real life. We were all talking about how work consumes our lives, and then we all started drinking wine. My boss ended up coming and we had a party on the mountain. After awhile one of my co-workers, Abbey had the idea to go fishing. We even made plans to go rent a boat, which didn't make sense at all because the lakes around here are all frozen because its winter. After we got the boat rental, I went to invite my boyfriend. I was calling and texting him and he never answered. After that I woke up.

My interpretation: I think i was dreaming about being on a mountain because I was really cold all night. I remeber waking up a few times that night. I think that my co-workers were in my dream because I am always with them, and when I am not at school I'm at work. It is like my second home and my co-workers are literally like my family. I think that fishing and my boyfriend were in my dream because he is always asking me to go ice fishing but I'm usually busy, and thats why I think he didn't answer me in my dream when I invited him. I feel like it was just showing me how it feels to not want to go fishing with him.. Does that even make sense?

  17. Title: Is it a Dinner Party?
So in my dream I was standing outside this huge, old, yellow Victorian house. I then began to enter the house, inside it was just like it would have been when it was built in the late 1800’s. The furniture looked extremely old and out of place in today’s society. The first floor was dark and dreary so I went upstairs, I soon realized the house had 7 floors. Upstairs there was a much more modern feel, there was a huge table all set for a feast, I saw my parents in the kitchen. There was a knock on the door and my friend Kristen and her family came in for dinner. I haven’t seen her in a very long time and we were so excited to be there. We went to go eat but when we got upstairs everything was gone and so were all of the guests. I was no longer in the house; I was in my back yard, it looked like a field and the ground was covered in fog and everything seemed eerie. And that is all I remembered before I woke up…
Interpretation: I think that this may have all have taken place in an old Victorian because it is my dream home, and I recently watched a show on HGTV where they went into a really old, dark, and dirty Victorian and fixed it up. I think that the fact that I saw my friend Kristen and that we missed each other shows that I should talk to her and see how everything is going. But I’m not sure why I ended up in a dark field full of fog…

  18. Title: The First Job

Content: My dream was pretty simple but weird at the same time. I woke up frantically, looked at my phone, it was February 2nd. Time has somehow traveled an entire week. I instantly realize what has gone wrong, I missed the deadline to respond to a job offer by February 1st. I jump out of bed to call who I needed to call and they respond by saying "you are too late, we have taken someone else". I freak out and find a way to release my anger. The problem was, I had somehow grown cement blocks for shoes and I cannot move from my bedroom. I tried with all my might to move from the spot I was in and just couldn't budge. It seemed like this went on FOREVER. Finally, I melt into a gray liquid and disappear. I then woke up, thankfully the date was the 26th of January :)

Interpretation: I think that the stress that I have been going through with the current job decision I have to make has leaked into my dreams. I felt trapped (cement blocks) and I missed out on an opportunity because I was too late and missed the deadline. I think the liquid was some sort of emotion coming out of me such as sadness.

  20. Title: A Night to Remember

Comment: This is a very simple dream that I have been having a couple times in the last months. Its a a different girl every time this dream occurs but anyways its me and whoever this girl is just sitting on the couch and were just talking away but our bodies are getting closer and close and less words are being said and you can tell whats going to happen. As soon as moves are about to be made the door goes flying open and all I hear is a scream and gasp. That's all that happens every time I've had this dream, I wake up after the scream.

Interpretation: Honestly I have no idea. The girls that they are I know but there girls that are pretty random and that I usually don't talk to or really even have any kind of encounters with. The only thing I could think of with the scream at the end is a girlfriend that I have at the time but I don't have a girlfriend right now so maybe this is a dream that could tell a future event possibly?

  21. Title: Running through a field

Comment: I've been struggling to remember my dreams, always have, and even though I use the techniques taught I still struggle. Regardless I believe I do have a dream to share. It's fairly short though, but it starts with a landscape of a field with sun beams flowing through the grass, then it focuses on an animal, a big one, running through the grass toward the sun. I can't recall feeling any emotions with it but vividly remember a brown and big animal running through an unrealistically green field with a bright sun. After that I wake up.

Interpretation: I have no idea what this means, and I'm not fully sure it's even a dream to be honest. But it's the best, or should I say, the most vivid thing I remember from my sleep. As I said I'm still struggling to really see my dreams. I'm curious if anyone else can garner some sense out of what appears to be absolute nonsense to me.

  22. Title: sweet tooth

My dreams lately have been weird and blotchy, but I just had this dream about driving my nephew and siblings somewhere but I cant drive so that's weird and for some reason, even though I'm driving most of my dream is spent on foot. after I finally reach a destination wherever it is, I end up with an ice cream cone in my hand and it was really good but once I received the ice cream cone I just remember feeling overwhelmed and I want to say scared but I'm not sure if that is feeling. but in that moment I wasn't paying attention to my nephew and he ends up making a ginormous ice cream cone and finishing it all in one sitting. after this I woke up.

I really have no idea what this dream means but I do know that I have a fear of driving and I always end up behind the wheel of a car in my dreams for some reason, knowing that I don't know how to work the machine. and the ice cream thing, well, I think I was having a craving.

Title : Finding who I am

I never dream, but when I do, I take it as an actuall event that happened in my life and I just go on with it. I never really think of it as a dream. I have been going through a lot at home. I commute. These problems are always in front of me. They really bother me. I haven't been sleeping well at all for past 2 weeks. I have been having problems in my life and it's effecting my schooling. I don't have motivation to do anything. When I do dream, I think it is showing reality of things sometimes and other times it shows hope for the future. I really like the hope ones. These problems are really affecting everything in my life, and for a week , I couldn't sleep. My mind was not allowing me to. I would go for drives and get a coffee and just be awake, I felt I needed to talk and talking to someone helps but deep inside, there's a extreme hurt that takes time to heal. And you need to do something that your heart says you need to do.
Everyone dreams and I personally believe dreaming is a mind experiment for future actions and sometimes it's a replay of someone/something you can't stop thinking about.

  24. Title: Some Vacation

My dream was not too clear. I was on vacation, and it was clear that I was arriving at a port on a cruise ship. I packed up my backpack and left the ship with my friend. I don't remember where we were but I remember the port looking very poor. All of the sudden I remember my backpack being gone. I am not sure where it went it seemed to disappear right off my back. Everything important was in my backpack, room keys, passports, money, credit cards, my phone and my camera. My anxiety level was through the roof alls I could think about was my backpack. As time got short I ran around frantically looking for my backpack. I remember being in a casino and running by the screaming slot machines in the high roller room behind a set of glass doors. Finally I saw a girl, I'm not sure who the girl is her face is a blur. This girl knew where my backpack was and I began chasing her but before I could get the backpack it was too late. We needed to leave to get back to the cruise ship. I was driving a huge expedition in the dar all the way back to the boat my friend was maneuvering the wheel while I was pressing pedals. There were sides of the road crowded by people and some parts crowded by animals. I remember not being able to see very well out of one of my eyes. I remember trying to call people from school assuming that they were still at the casino and asking them to find my backpack. We got back and I had no backpack and we were not on the ship either, we were back in our apartment/dorm room. I remember waking up and my boyfriend walking in and me rushing around and telling him I need to write down my dream or I will forget it. As I get down off my bed I see my backpack lying there underneath it with all of my belongings.

Interpretation: I do not remember my dreams often, but when I do a majority are like this. I think it is because I seem to worry a lot. I recently went on vacation and was very careful with all the important documents/belongings. This dream was showing me what could have happened if I didn't take precaution with all my belongings. Also this dream points out another big fear of mine with the girl that knows where my backpack is. I tend to have a fear of people knowing something about me or my things that I don't already know. I think that this girl was symbolizing this fear. As far as the ending of the dream when I recall that I need to write down my dream, I believe this was because I was coaching myself to remember my dream. As previously stated, I do not remember my dreams very often so in order to remember my dreams I have been trying to tell myself to remember my dreams. Seeing the backpack at the end of my dream was interpreted as a sort of way to relieve myself of all the anxiety I was feeling by letting me know "your backpack is here it was only a dream."

  25. Rats:

I had the weirdest dream about a group of rats being mothered by a cat. The rats were all vibrant and bright colors like red, yellow, greed, and blue. The rats kept running around in this maze that resembled that of a dogs agility course. Then the would return to their "mother" and I. This just kept repeating.

I realize now that it has a direct correlation to the video that we viewed in class on Tuesday. The rats were brightly colored because in the maze they ran their brain waves were color coded to specific movements in the maze. I must have been thinking about how in REM sleep people retain and encode information. Because the video stated that and backed it up with facts. It just must have been on my mind before bed.

  26. Title: Cooking Challenge

This probably had something to do with the 100 pounds of chili I cooked last weekend. Anyways I had this dream where I was inside something like a reality tv show similar too Top Chef and I was one of the contestants. The cooking challenge was to make something that tasted good, but very simple to prepare. So I ended up cooking something with tools you could take with you camping. I do not remember what I ended up cooking, but when the chef started taste testing foods, mine was the only one that he finished. He did not finish solely based on its taste, but the combination of taste + preparation.

I had this dream before people ate the chili that I had cooked that weekend and I believe that this dream was to let me know that the chili was going to be a big hit and it was.

  27. Work Disaster

I had a dream I was working with my boss on some audits at work, but I kept sneaking off to the back room to drink wine out of a coffee cup in the back room. Eventually my boss caught on to me and yelled at me. She then sent me to the store to buy a case of water. I was running late, and rushing. As I was coming up a hill, I made a sharp turn and hit a brick wall. and my two front tires fell off and my wallet flew out of the car and I couldn't find it. Then I woke up.

I'm not sure what to make of this, other than that work is stressing me out and I often feel like I'm hitting a brick wall when it comes to certain projects.

  28. Title: Running From my Inevitable Death

I'm in my high school. Everything looks different. Everything is disastrous and this mentally challenged kid, a little older than me, by the name of Brandon is going crazy. He's never acted this way before, in fact he's always been rather quiet. I've never been within 10 feet of him and I don't know him well. He's finally lost it and has a gun. He's chased everyone out of the school and shot some although I don't see bodies. I'm terrified because he's coming for me. He's hunting me down chasing me through the school and I hide in this room full of white furniture. Everything is white, white couches, white walls and carpets. Brandon, who is wearing black sweatpants and a black tee shirt, is on the other side of the room near a doorway and I hide behind a couch. He exits out of the only doorway in the room and I'm slightly relieved. He's gone. I'm sweating and breathing heavily and I start to get up slowly and cautiously. The next thing I know he's behind me. He has the gun to my back and mumbles something I can't understand. He loads the gun, pulls the trigger and I feel the bullet go through me. I wake up, and my back shoulder blade where he shot is wet and sore from the dream. I'm sweating and screamed.

Interpretation: I'm really not sure how to think this. I think the white could represent the hope in my life and the black and shooting could represent my fear of it crumbling down and being taken away from me.

  29. Title: Basketball Games in my head

This dream was very interesting because of how many different situations came up in one dream but it was very simple, I was playing a game of basketball with my friends from college who I play with on a regular basis but the weird part was i was playing at my middle school back in New Jersey which i thought was kind of odd. Other than that nothing else really happened. We just played basketball but in a place where i went to school 9 years ago.

Interpretation: I honestly would have no idea how to dissect this maybe I just had this dream because I was playing basketball with those guys the night before but I couldn't guess on where the middle school part came from

  30. I am playing ice hockey, but not with my whole team at Nichols. There are a couple people that are on my team at Nichols but then some of my friends are playing with me as well. I asked some of them how did they learn how to play hockey and they said that they have always known how to play and that I never asked them to play before. It is just a pickup game with all of us. In the middle of all of us playing someone started doing figure skating tricks. A bunch of us looked at them with a weird look. Then one by one we each start trying to do some figure skating tricks. It was not that easy as most of us kept falling on our butts. I tried to jump from one foot to the other in a twirl and I landed it and we all thought it was the coolest thing. Then we got bored of it and started playing hockey again. Chelsea, my roommate, is playing forward as I am playing defense. I passed her the puck and she starting skating so fast around the other players and scored a sick goal. We all cheered in amazement and went over to her to celebrate with her. I asked her where she learns that and she told me that she had taught herself. She told me that when she has the free time she likes to go to the rink and teach herself new things. I thought that maybe I need to start going on my free time so that I can work on my skills. The puck dropped for another face off just then I woke up.
I think that with that dream that I am trying to tell myself that I need to start working on my skills more often than I do. I think my dream is telling me that if I work at hockey whenever I have free time that I could get better. I do not practice hockey as much as I should but with practice work pays off.

  31. Title: Walking
This is a repetitive dream that I have at least a few four times a year. It usually happens once every season and it has been going on since I was about 4. It is a short dream and it starts out with me laying in my bed unable to sleep. I begin tossing and turning and I start to feel beyond anxious. As the tossing and turning gets worse I get colder and my heart beat picks up. I start to settle down a little bit and stop tossing and turning. When I stop, I begin to hear something very faintly. Someone or something is walking alongside my house outside. I can vividly hear the feet step and sink into the fresh snow (in this case it is snow because it is winter just like in the fall it is usually crunchy leaves.) As I listen to this I start to become upset and afraid. The sound gets closer and closer to my window and my anxiety goes through the roof. Then I wake up.

Interpretation: I've always been afraid of what I can not see since I was very young. I feel like this dream is just portraying that due to my anxiety levels in the dream. I live in the middle of the woods, with almost no neighbors and I've always had a fear that someone is watching me. I don't think that this dream is telling me anything, I think it just shows me my real fear.

  32. I had a dream that is was a sunny vibrant day on campus and everyone was outside enjoying themselves. There was a weird vibe in the air but everything for the most part was pretty normal. The only thing is I found myself talking to student I don't normally talk to; not students I don't talk to purposefully but students I never really get the chance to speak with. So I wanted to go tell my friend on about it so I went to his room and I seen he was in there cause his door was open but for some reason I was too afraid to go inside. I felt like anxious and it was weird so instead of me being normal I knocked a bit and ran away. I ended up just watching him through the blinds of his window go to the door to find no one there and I left. Totally creepy! but whatever. I just don't know why I couldn't knock cause I walk in with no problem most of the time. but I guess every now and then there is always some unintentional hesitation.
